I'm Amy.

I'm 25.

I'm passionate about what I do.

I'm a fully qualified and certified Holistic and Beauty Therapist.

I have 7 years experience in the industry, previously working in 3 top beauty salons and spas in Stockport and South Manchester. I am also a voluntary holistic therapist for cancer patients and a registered member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists.

I love my job.

 

At the age of 14 I was sent on work experience from school. At that time my ambition was to be an artist or a psychologist, however they couldn't find me a placement in either of those roles so they put me in a beauty salon in Stockport. I spent two weeks making coffee and scraping wax off the beauty salon treatment room floors and hated every minute of it! I remember saying "that's the last job I would ever want to do!" Funny how things change...

With that experience behind me I continued my studies, gaining A Levels in Art and Design, Psychology and Sociology and got a place at university to study Psychology. Around this time I became unwell and decided it would be best to defer my place at university for a year and have a bit of time out. I never made it to university....

I cannot for the life of me remember my decision making at the time but something pushed me in the right direction and I ended up on a course at Stockport college doing a National Diploma in Holistic Therapies. I was one of the youngest on the course but I absolutely loved it. I realised then that this is what I should be doing! I qualified at the end of the year with flying colours and decided to stay on another 2 years and do my BTEC in Beauty Therapy Sciences to widen my skills in the industry. I qualified with a triple grade Distinction Merit.

During my first year of the BTEC I got my first job as a beauty therapist working for Saks Hair and Beauty. This was a great achievement working for such a big spa company and the intensive training I received at the Saks Academy was invaluable. It kick started my career in the best way possible. I learned so much here and became a therapist in my own right!

To broaden my experience I went on to work in a few smaller privately run beauty salons.

I then made the decision that the next step in my career should be to work for myself as a mobile beauty therapist. I felt that there was a demand for this service from clients that either didn't want to visit a beauty salon or simply didn't have time.

Well that's me...

I feel that anyone should enjoy beauty and holistic  treatments whether they are 9 or 90! 

For me theres is nothing better than putting a smile on a client's face.
